Voters making less than 50K?

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gkM0JvRRUl81LuDA_P2t_goU2kGAD93VU2200

McCain is somehow gaining advantage in the newest poll after his debate last Wednesday. Were people actually listening to that debate? Somehow McCain has convinced people that he is going to help the people making less than 50K. His increase in that market is staggering to me. When have republicans ever helped the little guy?

"...Here are some important facts to consider: since 1948, the economy has grown faster on average under Democratic presidents than under Republicans; and income inequality trended 'substantially upward under Republican presidents but slightly downward under Democrats,' according to Princeton professor of political science, Larry M. Bartels, author of Unequal Democracy." - The Nation

It seems strange that the "real Americans" support someone that has never helped them. The Joe the Plumber story makes even less sense. This is not an average Joe. He was asking Obama about how his tax program would affect him when he was buying his plumbing business. How many average Joe's own a plumbing business that is set to make more than 250K?

Somehow throughout all this mess, the average Joe - the real average Joe - has turned to the dark side. Are people that easily led? That one story about a plumber would convince them that Republicans have changed their ways for the last, how many years, and are now fighting for the little guy. Is it because Palin seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator amongst those "real Americans"?

Queen Palin?

This is one of the best sites I have come across. Make sure to click on all the pieces in the picture and have your sound turned on.

Palin as VP?

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/21/palin-vp-senate/

So obviously this is a liberal biased source. However, let's forget about the source for a second.
Let's focus specifically on what she says. She claims that the VP is "in charge" of the Senate. When McCain called her up and asked her to be his VP, don't you think her first question should have been, "And what would that entail?" I mean, I like to sign up for jobs that I don't know what they do, as I think a lot of people do, but I don't think that we are heartbeat away from ruling on of the most powerful countries in the world.

And what is even more disturbing is that she fucked this up in her first debate with Biden - well, her only debate cause God knows that could not happen again. Shouldn't someone in the span of time between that and this have taken her aside and been like, "Hey, Sarah. Come here for a sec. So you know this position you are running for? Let's talk about what you would actually do if elected (and if McCain doesn't die in like the first day?)" I could have had that conversation with her. In fact, I think most kids that have passed 5th grade could have had that conversation with her and did a better job of explaining the position then she has in either of the times that it has come up.

Now, the right has been saying that Biden said the same thing in an interview. However, the difference between what Biden said and what Palin said is that Biden is referencing the lobbying that VP's do for the President's bills. I doubt that Palin even knows what lobbying is, so I highly doubt that she is referencing that. Biden, since he is, uh, a Senator, probably has a pretty good idea that the VP is not "in charge" of the Senate.

The Beginning

I have been bitching about politics a lot on Facebook and I thought that maybe I should bring my satire to a wider audience. I have always hated blogs - no one wants to know what you ate yesterday or what shoes you bought at the store. But I think, especially in today's world, that more people want to hear people's thoughts on politics. And since we value people that have absolutely no qualifications to lead this country, why wouldn't we value someone's random diatribe on the political world around them?
